    Help the festival build a strong and sustainable future. Seeking a volunteer with strong organizational skills to assist the Artistic Managing Director with preparing our annual fundraising campaign materials.

Front of House/Usher

Perfect for you if: you’re a welcoming and friendly presence as guests enter the theatre. You know just how to make everyone feel right at home. You’re always willing to help out and you love having all the answers.


Duties:

● Report to the Front of House Manager

● Take tickets and welcome guests into the theatre

● Direct patrons to their seats

● Answer questions about the performance

● Be aware of safety procedures

● Assist patrons who need to exit during the performance

Artist Hospitality & Driving

Perfect for you if: you’re interested in going behind-the-scenes to keep everything running smoothly. You want to help our artists give the best performances they can. You pay attention to details, and you’re helpful and respectful of the artist’s needs.

Duties:

● Report to the Concessions and Hospitality Manager

● Check dressing room cleanliness/supplies, and make sure that the dressing rooms are clean at the end of the night

● Make sure refreshment supplies are fresh and filled

● Be present (but not obtrusive) to assist artists as issues arise

● Stay in communication with festival staff in the event that they are required

● Provide local transportation to get artists where they need to go on time

Concession

Perfect for you if: you’re passionate and excited to make everyone’s night as special as it can be. You love a good cocktail, and you’re always ready to make a recommendation. You have experience with customer service and a valid Serving it Right certification.

Duties:

● Volunteers who handle alcohol must be 19+. Note that younger volunteers and volunteers without SIR can still assist in this position, but will not be able to serve alcohol.

● Take orders and serve drinks and snacks to patrons

● Arrive before the performance to help the Concession Manager set up the bar area

● Maintain a clean and presentable bar area

● Take payment and handle POS system

Administrative & Marketing Support

Perfect for you if: you’ve got mad spreadsheet skills, your mailing lists are a thing of beauty, or you know your way around Photoshop. Perhaps you prefer to work in the daytime or in the off-season. You have strong communications skills and keen attention to detail.

Duties:

● Assist with administrative projects, such as mail-outs, collecting and organizing show information

● Assist with the creation of print and social media materials such as playbills, posts, and study guides

● Participate in fundraising activities

● Assist with maintenance of festival website and ticketing platform

● Special projects, like creating special event VIP guest bags

Workshop Support

Perfect for you if: you love to participate and aren’t afraid to go first. You like to learn and are comfortable helping to keep the classroom safe and welcoming for everyone. You’re excited to make new friends and share in a collaborative experience.

Duties:

● Assist with setting up workshop space

● Track attendance of patrons

● Assist artist as they direct workshop

● Help clean up and reset the space after the workshop

● Help maintain a welcoming and productive environment for all workshop participants

Special Event Support

Perfect for you if: you’re looking for an exciting opportunity to engage with your community in large or intimate settings. You’re comfortable wearing many hats and ready for a flexible, adaptable role. You’re confident in different environments and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it. You’re willing to stay a bit later in the evening to help out.

Duties:

● Assist with special events, such as post-show artist talks and receptions

● Help arrange the event space (set up seating and tables, decorate, prepare snacks and/or concessions, organize refreshments for speakers and guests, etc.)

● Maintain concessions and/or snack tables during the event, and keep supplies stocked. Take payment and handle POS system if needed 

● Assist patrons with seating, refreshments, and access needs in the venue

● Help clean and reset event space afterwards
