(Israel/Canada/India)

Presented by The Weinberg Residence

November 5 at 7pm
Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre

Chutzpah! is excited to announce a vibrant evening of music featuring a dynamic fusion of Middle Eastern, Indian, and jazz music, with a special performance by the Itamar Erez Trio, joined by guest artists Yonnie Dror (Middle Eastern & Western Wind Instruments), Kalya Ramu (Vocals), and Shruti Ramani (Vocals).

BC’s Itamar Erez, an internationally acclaimed composer, guitarist, and pianist, is renowned for his powerful and emotive performances across the globe. Itamar’s music holds a depth and sensitivity that touches listeners deeply. It blends the delicateness of Middle Eastern music, the freedom found in jazz and the passion of flamenco, creating a unique sound all his own. He will be joined by Jeff Gammon on bass and drummer Kevin Romain.

Featured guest artist Yonnie Dror, Los Angeles-based member of Israel’s Yamma Ensemble, is a leading multi-wind instrumentalist, initially trained as a classical flautist, and whose musical journey led him to explore ancient, unconventional and non-Western wind instruments from around the world including Duduk (Armenia), Bansuri (India), Ney (Egypt), Didgeridoo (Australia), as well as Zurna and the Jewish Shofar.

Guest vocalists Kalya Ramu (Toronto) adds her smooth jazz vocals, and Shruti Ramani (Vancouver) infuses a unique blend of Indian and jazz traditions.
